"Insects" is certainly the briefest summary, although "Parasitic worms, giant centipedes and brainwashing, with purple goo on the side" would be far more accurate.

The description also links to a series of mini-novels that gets into a bit more detail, though Google Translate only gives me the very roughest idea of what it says. I would be interested in a real translation of the novels.
