    What's dead dog party?

    A dead dog party is a party held after a convention is over, usually to wind down from the excitement of the event. See here for a few details. I suppose "after-party" might be more appropriate here, as this is being held by pro attendees, rather than convention staff, but the general principle still applies.

    As a staff member of a convention, I assure you that is exactly what we mean when we use the term — i.e., by the time the convention is over and everything is packed up and put away, we all feel about as energetic as a dead dog. Perfect time for a party, right?
