We still don't know what happening if she is on sun... maybe she just getting weaker like in Legacy of Kain, or she actually burns
No, it's clear: vampires burn in the sun, at least superficially (she can reassorb the ashes tough, so she won't die for it anyway). It is even shown during Remilia's fight with Yorihime.
