Shoukaku isn't as responsive as Zuikaku is to Kaga's bullying; since Shoukaku gets hit all the time, she's used getting shot down. She'll try really hard to be nice though, as you can tell by her optimistic statement.

Also if you check the fanworks, Zuikaku has more illustration of being Kaga's target than Shoukaku. Shoukaku receives less than this; perhaps the fans think Zuikaku in Kaga's eyes is more annoying than Shoukaku.

Zuikaku just has a more aggressive personality. The youngest sister who constantly got looked down by the eldest sister. That ensured both can quickly get into a fight just because "she looks at me funny".
Shoukaku would just back off and there will be no explosive ending; and she's not nicknamed the turkey.

Too be fair Zuikaku has reason to be aggressive and proud as she had a war career that frankly put's Kaga to shame. The full extent of Kaga's accomplishments can be summed up as: bullied a nation with no navy or modern air force to speak of, helped bomb a bunch of battleships sitting in harbor in a sneak attack, bombed another harbor and sunk a few ships, and was then killed by potentially a solitary bomb hit in the first battle she fought against a peer power having accomplished nothing in said battle. She doesn't even get to brag about crippling a virtually gutted Indian Ocean Royal Navy squadron because she was being repaired after managing to smash herself into a reef at the time.

In point of fact Kaga might well be argued to be the worst performing of all pre-war Japanese fleet carriers which makes her fandom status as an 'ace' a somewhat amusing irony. And she really doesn't have a leg to stand on when sneering at Zuikaku whose war record just destroys her in ever aspect and is pretty easily the best of the Japanese carriers. Even Zuikaku's death was completely planned and executed perfectly. Honestly if anyone was going to be some steely eyed samurai unafraid of death you'd think it would be her. She'd certainly have more reason for bitter stoicism the Kaga ever did having managed to survive long enough to watch almost everyone she started the war with die.

I've always kind of wondered why this never seems to come up in fan works. It should be awfully easy to shut Kaga the hell up by asking how many carriers she sank or how many real battles she fought in. (The answers being none and one where she was destroyed ignominiously respectively)

IIRC wasn't Kaga's claim to fame really due to her pilots? As in the ship's awful, but her pilots made up for it with their skills and experience.

Kaga's pilots (3 of them actually) shot down an obsolete American plane and scored Japan's first aerial victory, maybe the rule "whoever started it, is the superior" is being applied here. And besides, Kaga has Mitsugu Mori, another Japanese ace pilot and involved to the January 28 Incident which started the Second Sino-Japanese War, in her air complement.

Kaga might have the best air complement during her time but her poor facilities and lack of discipline of her somehow making her perform poorly (Kaga had the most casualties during the Pearl Harbor Attack).

You also have to remember Fanworks also go off the game itself, and while the game does make references to the historical events, last I check, the real Akebono (or her crew) wasn't going around calling their admiral "Shitty shitty shitty shitty".

And the Real Yamashiro probably wasn't a siscon.

The whole point of Kaga being a bully is because of her lines in game more so than her history.

The game makes references but certianly isn't 100% factual. If Kadokawa was to really try to show the different between Kaga and Zuikaku, then we instead would get a depressed moe Kaga and a big headed Ego Zuikaku.

Honshou's line and mannerism is a play on her real life counterpart but I doubt Kadokawa is really gonna go that route with every ship(they already don't).

Pretty much Kaga's disposition to the 5th CarDiv is also taken to be as a result of the 5th CarDiv replacing 1st CarDiv and 2nd CarDiv (Souryuu + Hiryuu) due to their demise at Midway.
So, like, Kaga views them as a bad omen; their arrival signifies impending doom to herself and Akagi (and 2nd CarDiv).
Since Zuikaku has a more aggressive personality, it tends to naturally come to odds with Kaga's stoic fear (commonly presented as bullying) of her and Shoukaku.

Or at least, that's what I understand from most works.

There are several early expeditions (some of the most profitable ones on a resource-per-unit-time) that do not require anything but a certain number of ships and greater-than-one levels. In fact, required composition aside, the best expedition teams are maybe Akitsu Maru (depending on if landing craft make up for fuel cost), Maruyu, and Mutsuki-class destroyers for the rest.

You can get all the base resources you really need off of expeditions 2, 3, and 6, which don't have any ship requirements (besides raw numbers and a flagship level requirement of 4), although you might want to grind 1-3 a bit to help up the fuel. (Although you'd want to take Suzuya along to one-shot that battleship for the destroyers...)

You might want to see the "Do your best Fubuki-chan" pool, where Kaga and Zuikaku rip each other new ones... especially post #1663062

You do see "Yakitori Kaga" come up occasionally (with things like people dying of heat exhaustion if she gets in the kotatsu with them) but not all that often. She tends to murder people who make light of it, though, so there may be reason.

Actually, there was some history, there.

Akagi and Kaga, being the oldest main CV ships, got the most experienced pilots (in spite of being the worst ships by any objective measure besides the capacity of their easily-ignited hangars) and the crews and officers of the 1st Carrier Div openly sneered upon the 5th Carrier Div. What Kaga does in the game and in fanworks is reflective of what her pilots and crews did to their own compatriots.

Shoukaku and Zuikaku were superior carriers in basically every respect, but got the worse air crews specifically because they were built later (and hence, after the Japanese had time to reflect upon getting absolutely everything they possibly could get wrong wrong in making Kaga...) and Shoukaku may be "unlucky" for SURVIVING damage frequently, but she notably didn't die in a single hit, either.

Honestly, what I find odd is how Shoukaku is portrayed as being so elegant (probably the crane name), when her real-life feature was the capacity to really take a punch (at least, compared to Japanese ships, Enterprise would practically be Urashima Keitaro...)

actually, on this one he failed hard on battleship recipe, it takes quite an amount of resources than aircraft carrier on steel and ammo. i dont know whatnumber he put on the max though
