Imo it's not that much crack. They've got some similarities as religious leaders and so; and the rivals as lovers thing is commonly seen between Mokou and Kaguya as well. So I'd say HijiMiko and TeruMokou have about the same degeree of crack going on. Btw I totally support this pairing.

It's even less cracky than that, if you ask me: Byakuren and Miko are only rivals because they happen to be trying gather faith in the same place; they're not mortal enemies like Kaguya and Mokou are.

Plus, there's a certain "mama and papa" dynamic they're depicted as having with Kokoro. (This artist uses that in another doujin, albeit in a slightly corrupt way.)

LOL No When she was alive, Miko use her position as the crown prince to popularize Buddhism in order to stabilizing Japan, as the religion forbid killing and strive for harmony, peace, preach kindness. While preaching Buddhism, she practice Taoism with Seiga. Then she pretend to die while just sleeping, using Taoist practice and wait until Japan outgrow Buddhism to preach Taoism. The Buddhist monks foiled her plan by constantly sealing her, prevent her resurrection.
As you can see,Byakuren and Miko are not rivals, more like enemies,as Miko use Buddhism as a tool(even if it for good cause- stabilizing Japan) then wait until the right time to overthrow the religion while Byakuren is a Buddhist nun. Touhou fandom doesn't portray them as rivals , with Byakuren win most of the time for no reason.(Very few Japaneses practice, or even know about Taoism white Buddhism is very popular.)
