For some reason, these comics seem to have been translated in 90% English, 10% Italian. Dunno why.

Because the second language used in the original is English. But since we're translating to English...

I don't know, cause Italian sounds more classy? What would you prefer? French? Spanish? Russian like some KanColle's translator? Or just straight into English?

As a simple user, it's kind of refreshing seeing some words in another language besides english. Using the context you can actually understand what they're saying, and also learning some words in anothe language.

It's understandable that, but is still unilateral. Most of the translations depends of the artist, context and the character, more than the translator sense of translation. Try to keep the idea in the translation, instead of make it stylish.

That's helps a lot, specially to users like me, who barely can read and translate some phrases in japanese, because we can only read english and his/her native language.

The point of said tranlations isn't always to actually understand the context given. In kantai collectoin's case, it's not like most japanese players understand Russian either. The joke is that Hibiki's lines are supposed to be nonsense random russian she throws around. Actually translating that into english(or whatever language the translations are supposed to be in) loses the joke.

That's why I prefer Hibiki's lines to be stuck as "Harasho" vs actually translating it as "Thank you". It's supposed to be in russian.

If the original japanese content has lines that aren't supposed to be understood by the average reader(other than lucky billingual readers) then the joke should be retained.

The Italian lines of expression are very faithful and exactly the same,to the point they are clearly noticeable it is a (homage?) rendition of Japanese->Italian ,one that is either quite similar to the ENGlish counterpart or can usually be found inside the specialized idiomatic context about " known and popular JAPanese localized-contexted comic-manga-printed work & relatable idiomatic lines ,or at least by prime origination from Japanese, also 4koma and koma comics ".

....However be whollyreassured the trend and habit are "neither 'key-to-keyhole' or longer pieces of translations are in Italian at all " "nor Touhou idiom or almost-idiom terms are Italian-translated but just in ENGlish ".
...Nevertheless a clarifying re-translation Note(s) is(are) best to be added.
