North American A-5A-45-NH Vigilante, BuNo 149296, serving with heavy attack squadron VAH-1, part of CVG-7 aboard USS Independence (CV-62).

149296 was converted to a RA-5C photoreconnaissance aircraft in 1966 and crashed off NAS Key West on March 5, 1974 after an in-flight fire, killing the crew of 2.
