Why couldn't she wear the coat all of the time?

Practical reasons(like how pretty much every athelete comes out in a jacket and pants and then strips down to a leotard when they're about to perform)

because she lost her pauncho thing and she needs to throw something off to make an entrance because she's an exhibitionist/stripper
