    It's all the admiral's own fault he's still a virgin and drives the girls away: He's a hypocrite who hates being judged as a boy for not having sex, but judges all the girls around him on whether they have had sex, and looks down on them as "used goods" if they have. (Even when they are apparently in a long-term relationship, like Shioi was, his perception was that of something like "betrayal" when she "dared" to "become used goods".) This whole series rests solely upon that inherent hypocrisy of "men are not virgins" and "women who are not virgins are sluts".

    (I thought he'd said this series was over, but wanted to drive this one point home again after hearing some feedback on it?)

    On the other front, Maya's generally a huge tomboy, and although it's not explicit, the classic tsundere is a tomboy, so she's usually portrayed as such if she ever gets romantic options. (The classic tsundere being someone like Asuka from NGE who knows plenty of men, and acts tomboyish, but never really had one as an "equal" or a potential romantic partner, and has no idea how to react to that, in particular. The notion of conflict between her toughness and her romantic feelings driving the internal strife that produces tsundereness in the first place.)

    You might want to go back and take a look in that episode, at his "towering motivation". The reason he helped Ushio, but left Shoukaku to the rapists is because staring at her... twin cannons left him with a raging... protection complex.

    Personally I do focus with dating women who have not slept around before but I have dated women who have had multiple partners (not at once... hopefully). The whole reason we don't like people who sleep around is the transfer of diseases, and the indication of sexual immaturity which might signify a future as a poor and inconsistent spouse/parent. Some might be jealous, but I think that alone is something that should be overcome than to dwell on.

    Some kids were kind of dumb that believed things that public schools promoted a couple decades ago (they probably still do) like "safe sex" and "everyone is doing it", but even if they fucked up (literally) as adolescents, as adults I know quite a few who regret it and matured past blind promiscuity. Bad and messy breakups usually help the maturation process. And also there is the point that NWSiaCB brings up that you have to live up to the same standard you hold to your partner. If you screwed around before, you shouldn't expect your partner to have to be virgin. Similarly, if you are a virgin there is nothing wrong with wanting your partner to be the same. Some say that no one is a virgin, while others say that used goods are poor wife material, but I think that it comes down to being realistic about your expectations given your current and past history.

    Isn't the actual problem schools that try to masquerade "abstinence only" as sex ed or does that happen only at private schools for religiots?
