If you look back, she got a plane for some reason. She sucked with it and had to let Nagara fly it, but she apparently held on to it.

Tenryuu can equip seaplanes, but it shows up with a 0-count. So, she unequipped it, making it appear; put the core in, and the re-equipped it, making it go into limbo, and thus do nothing when it explodes.

Actually, could someone now explain to me why Tenryuu still has that seaplane she can't even properly use equipped when she's supposed to have been equipped for some sort of final climactic battle?

You can't even say she planned this, she just happened to get the boarding party because it turns out their original ploy was foiled, so she couldn't have equipped a seaplane "just in case".

Maybe Tenryuu's stupid enough to equip something she can't use, but shouldn't Matsuda check her equipment or something?

She likes keeping one. What else does she need for a reason? She surpasses the world's standard after all.
