welp.. sodak carry 10 turret 5in multi purpose + huge amount of bofor and 25mm atuocannon.... while akizuki only depend on her 4 turret 3.9in + 4 25mm triple auto cannon and some 25mm + 7mm machine gun lol so that quite a lot imho

Looks at the career of several Fletcher class destroyers... Eh... Her proficiency is remarkable by IJN destroyed standards at least.
I looked into this somewhat extraordinary claim, which is a performance worthy of a Gearing equipped with VT, and it appears that it isn't true. Bunker Hill and Monterey lost between three and six aircraft between them on the New Year's raid, all of which they attributed to heavy Zero fighter cover. Not to say that Ducky didn't get any.
