I remember these (original Peanuts) strips well. Appreciated the extra bit of background they gave Marcie, who amazingly had been in the strip for roughly three decades as little more than Peppermint Patty's quirky sidekick, without much development beyond calling Patty "Sir" and being comically useless at sports despite her obvious intelligence. That she had a father who was pushing her so hard was an interesting direction to take the character, and it's yet another way she's such perfect fit for Youmu, in this case as Youki's protégé.
Sigh.My grandfather wants me to be "the perfect half-person"...He won't let me do more than half the garden tending, half the meal preparation, or half a day of escorting Lady Yuyuko...That's a heavy goal to bear for a half-person gardener.
