At least Wo-chan will have a steady customer base for her mushrooms. And U-511 is the best of both worlds- she has easy access to both modes.

Isn't this more gameplay_mechanics alongside the transformation, since she is turning to her chibi form from the damage..
And thus eliminating the dual persona.

On the upside, it means she doesn't have to use HiRe curry to go chibi. On the downside, it means the fondant is lethal enough to INFLICT medium damage.

Aoba shrank to chibi when "heavily damaged" (read: ate Hiei curry) as well, she just doesn't have an alt form.

They've taken damage from explosions and not shrunk... nor was it implied that Kongou shrunk after being beaten up by Flandre.

Only the HiRe curry did that, and so far only for Aoba. Yuu seems to start out naturally in chibi form, like regular Mario, which is why damage shrinks her, as it does Mario.

I guess that must be quite inconvenient whenever the admiral puts her through her second remodel but then she can lose it fairly easily with medium damage

Sometimes my lv. 99 submarines manage to get medium or heavy damage from the regular enemy DDs and CLs even when sparkled during the usual Orel sea cruising...

It doesn't happen very often, but RNG goddess is perfectly capable of pulling sh*t like this.
