I really expected her smokestack to blow up in this scene...

I love the way each time Yamato blinks, her expressions changes little by little

I would just like to point out this realistic scale from the second episode. It's also a bit of a fridge logic about how heavy the girls possibly are and not break bunk beds.

This is a bit silly even by our standards. It's hard to believe this is an aspect they canonized.

I might sound really picky by saying this, but what's the point of switching back and forth between the 3D animation and 2D from shot to shot like that?

    It's rather noticeable.

I agree. The 3Ds are pretty bad, especially after seeing the ones from Aoki Hagane. Although I guess it does reduce the amount of time needed to hand draw them, it sticks out like a sore thumb. I sort of wish they would just use the 3D for only battle and that's all.

But, It's just my opinion and just a minor nitpick. The show's art itself isnt that bad.

it could be a bit of brilliance considering they were carrying her rig in that raft

Where the hell did Yamato bring her rigging question.

But the amazing things we took for granted would be, Yamato (the ship) weights 64k tons and she's still lighter than water (or water is just heavier, perspective).

They went on and off with the riggings, isn't that tiresome to run to launch base and back again? And yeah, Yamato rigging coming out of nowhere in the middle of the sea, i want to question a lot of things on that

It's easier to produce. The camera frames the scene with a lot of open sea and Fubuki isn't close up to the camera either. The switch back to 2D at 0:06 and 0:24 was probably easier for them to show Fubuki's expressions considering what she's doing. Notably, Fubuki's rigging in these cuts are still in 3D. I imagine that if they were going to animate the rigging in the first place, they might just go all the way.

Also, the shot at 0:04 is actually just one split into two. At 0:16, the camera is practically in the same spot.

She probably pulled her riggings out of her hammerspace. Where that is located is up to your imagination.
