しかし、アサギの忍法「殺陣華」が発動した瞬間、周囲の手下たちは一瞬にして魂を持たない肉片とかわり、朧自身も命に関わる深い傷を負うこととなってしまう。
However, the moment Asagi's ninja art "Flowering Sword Battle" was invoked, the surrounding underlings were turned instantly into soulless pieces of meat, and Oboro herself ends up bearing a deep life-threatening wound.
圧倒的優位を覆され、決定的な致命傷を受けた朧は、薄れていく意識の中でもニヤリと笑い、アサギへの呪詛の言葉を口から紡ぎ出す。
Her overwhelming superiority undermined, Oboro receives a decisive lethal wound. But even amidst a fading consciousness she grins and laughs, a curse spinning from her lips directed at Asagi.

バシュゥ!!アサギの刀が疾風のような速度で弧を描き振り下ろされると同時に、朧の首がポーンと手鞠のように宙を舞い、静寂を纏った夜空に断末魔の叫びが響き渡った。
Kshh!! As Asagi's sword is drawn downward cutting an arc, Oboro's head dances through the air like a medicine ball, her death rattle echoing through a night sky enveloped in silence.

こうして、アサギは朧を討ち取り、朧忍軍を壊滅へと追いやったのだった。そして、物語はその時から3年の月日が経過する。

"How about getting a little careless?" shouts a lone woman appearing in front of Asagi.
魑魅魍魎と話託し、勢力を伸ばす多国籍企業・ノマドに与する朧忍軍の首領・朧だ。
It's Oboro, the Haze Ninja Army boss of Nomad, a multinational corporation commissioning river and mountain demons to extend its influence.
「さぁ、どうする？私も鬼ではない。ここで、刀を捨て、部下共の慰み者になるなら、優しく殺してやるぞ！」
