Well the reason they are so obsessed is because they don't have Puchi's of their own. After finally meeting theirs they might actually mellow out.

Which is exactly why they can't get along with their puchis. It's like two characters in a rom com that obviously like each other, but constantly tease the audience by never going out together until the final episode. If they actually resolved that plot point, there'd be no drama, and hence, no value in the characters. (Unless the authors could figure out how to make a relationship dramatic, but almost nobody actually tries that.)
I'm guessing either their puchis fear or hate them, and deliberately hide or fight them off and/or are destroyercons and want nothing to do with characters that have adult-sized bodies.

Teito Kuu is entirely too happy about the situation - she's definitely trolling the eyepatch duo somehow.
My own guess, based on the translated "next time" commentary, is that the eyepatch puchis are super-strong and even bigger horndogs than their larger namesakes, and the molesters will become the molested.
Either way, I think yuurei is planning to trade the "Tenryuu and Kuso are perpetually unrequited puchicons" conflict for some new conflict - I'm just further speculating that the new one is "Tenryuu and Kiso are perpetually harassed by their own puchis".

I think it's just one of those things that when you really want something, you won't get it. Like in the game.
It took me months to finally get Kongou while her sisters were dropping like crazy, despite the fact that I already had over 20 of each.
I wanted Yamato when I tried crafting her. Instead, I got Musashi. Twice.
The one absolute guarantee is that it won't go quite the way Tenryuu and Kiso are currently imagining it. There will, as NegativeSoul suggests, be shenanigans.
