Nothing; one's straight and the other's bent at the knee. The skirt folds make it look like they're crossing in a weird way; I don't think the skirt is voluminous to contain a leg bent that way without the knee showing through, though.

Yeah, I see that now. That means the artist has her boot on the wrong foot.
