'I won't be able to break through to Leyte now...'
My interpretation of the battle of Surigao Strait (which happened rougly 71 years ago on October 25th 1944) in Kantai Collection form. In this battle, the Japanese fleet under Admiral Nishimura consisting of the battleships Fusou and Yamashiro, the cruiser Mogami and four destroyers were attacked by the waiting American fleet on the night of the 25th. All of the ships except the destroyer Shigure were sunk in this battle which also has the distinction of being the last time a battleship fired upon another battleship. The drawing is depicting the sinking of the battleship Fusou which was attacked by an initial wave of American destroyers and torpedo boats that caused it to fall behind the main force and sunk shortly after.
