    なんとか無事に飛んでくれてよかったです。

    てなわけで、今日で極・東方神居祭4編終了です。
    イベントの風景をまともに描いてないので、どっちかというと北海道監禁編みたいな気もしますが!(笑)

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 1959

They were able to fly us safely, thank goodness.

And so, the Ultimate Touhou Kamui Fest 4 chapter finishes off today. But since I didn't draw any decent art of the con scenery itself, if anything, this is more like a Confined to Hokkaido chapter! :-)

    lol That Kancolle reference

Also, cue the Ride of the Valkyries

Edit: actually "Uso pyon" might not be a exclusive kancolle reference

Today's survey reads between the lines:

What excites you to see lined up?
    • Aircraft
    • Trains
    • Tanks
    • Animals
    • Cosplay babes

Reader-added tags include "Safe takeoff," "No 'Stationery' in the survey", and "We lied-pyonnnn".

I think the first three (aircraft, trains, tanks) are what excite me lined up.

Oh, so they actually do the Elephant Walk even for civilian aviation, huh.

This kinda reminds me of Madeira: there's simply not enough flat ground on the island for a runway, so about two thirds of it is on pylons over the Atlantic. Still, it's considered just long enough for passenger aircraft, so when taking off, instead of a nice and smooth acceleration, the pilot taxis to the runway, puts on the brakes, maxes out throttle, and once the engines have spun up (five-ten seconds), releases the brakes.
The result is about the equivalent of a "Maximum-performance takeoff" for passenger jets.

    Awesommme...
    Spectacle
First time I've seen this kind of takeoff...
    Shhhrrrrrooooooooooooo
    Shrriiiiiii...
    Bustle
    Shuffle
W-...we're going to fly, right? They won't go "We lied-pyonnnn," right...?
    12:30 p.m., aboard the aircraft...
I hear that as soon as they'd cleared snow off the runways and while there was no snow, they got together and launched every flight that was to depart that morning.
