I've read the whole doujin even the hentai one. I'm still rather confused on what's going on. Is this still a direct continuation from the H-doujin? Also minarai's implying the former shipgirls are abyssals in the story. But if I recall they are coexisting with the regular shipgirls right? Does anyone recall also if Kongou or Haruna are in this base? Since it's hinted that Battleship Hime and Oni are you know who.
Not to mention that in the H-doujin they mistook admiral for a male abyssal variant. Was it made in jest? Or were there hints that there was more to it?

Hoppo had a tea party with the Connie sisters. They also made a few other appearances.
It's also implied that Ta and Ru were sisters (with the younger sister being an onee-sama fetishist like Yamashiro and Hiei) here.
The most explicit comparison was provided here, where we see Kaga and Akagi coexisting with Midway Hime and CV Oni. CV Oni's also acts like Kaga in her interactions with the 5thCarDiv, in other pages from the same arc.

Plenty of hints were made, especially in this current arc, and the side stories that come with this arc, that the "male Abyssal" claim has some grain of truth in it. My personal theory is that he's a 'lost' Abyssal, or alternatively someone who has undergone the Abyssalification process partway before getting lost or abandoned somewhere.
