She shouldn't use repellent. She should set up traps to catch the yukkuris when they try to enter the garden. Then she can eat them and/or sell them to the factory.

After this comment, I can't help but associate "Reimu" with "Reimoo", since they're pronounced exactly the same in my language.

There's a pretty tragic explanation for that. That is she is Hakurei Reimu, bears the name of Hakurei. She has to treat every creature the same, fairly, no self interest. And because she treats youkai, ghosts, oni, vampires, etc the same as she treats a human, the human treat her like a monster. Creep away from her. That would explain why she often seen as a poor, grass/dirt-eating-to-live, lonely girl living in the Hakurei shrine.

Well, that's what I read and summed up.

The road to the shrine is also pretty dangerous, so unless there is a big flow of people going there together (like during a festival or something like that), she would get few visitors anyway.
