"Danke" has no umlauts (it's pronounced DAHN-kuh, not DAYN-kuh). Gratuitous umlauts indeed.

Glad to see that column back, and with one of the cutest heavy cruisers at that. This shall be celebrated.

"Her nefarious courage"? I do not think that means what either the writer or translator thinks it means.

Third ship of Admiral Hipper class heavy cruiser
Operation Hannibal On January 1945, Prinz sortied to provide support to East Prussia (Sambia Peninsula). During this operation she fired more than 700 shells in a period of two days in the biggest rescue operation.
Laid on April 1936 in Kiel's Krupp Germania shipyard and launched on August 1938. She is designed to have stronger firepower, armour, speed and operational time than the strongest heavy cruisers she is supposed to counter. As result, she has 15'000t standard displacement, comparable to pre-dreadnought battleships.
Despite having her comrades pass away before her, Prinz Eugen is damaged, repaired, modified, and finally survived various operations until the end of the war. Even when used as a target ship for Operation Crossroads, she stood against two blasts and showed her indomitable courage until she ran aground and capsized.
Operation Rheinübung On May 1941, Prinz Eugen and Bismarck embarked on a commerce raid. They fought an enemy fleet composed of a battleship, cruiser, and four destroyers, and managed to sink a cruiser. Because Bismarck was damaged in this battle, they parted ways and Prinz Eugen continued the mission alone. After that, Prinz Eugen experienced engine trouble and had to return to port. The operation was aborted. But upon returning to port, she received news that Bismarck has been sunk by an enemy attack.
Operation Cerberus On Febuary 1942, Prinz Eugen and fleet (with Scharnhorst and Gneisenau) are ordered in an operation to break through Dover Strait and sail back to Germany. The mission succeeded with no ships lost. In this operation, they managed to heavily damage the enemy destroyers and scored vengeance for Bismarck against the destroyer squadron.
Thanks Thanks The umlauts are totally unnecessary here
