I wouldn't say better as much as it is different.

They've got a different spin on things and on occasion really hit the nail on the head.

Other times I feel like too much is going on.

It's a matter of taste, but I definitely prefer this one to the kancolle version. The headpiece on Kancolle's Nagato looks....dorky. It looks like a nail got hammered through her temples.

This Nagato is wearing a hair-piece (rather than a head-piece) so it looks more natural.

I also prefer the Chinese version, because of the variety.

I mean, serafuku-girl and big-boobed-blonde make up 90% of the Kancole character designs.
