Well, I don't like leaving them un-translated, but there aren't always English equivalents, and I tend to just fall back on my childhood watching of Cartoon Network Unsound effects. *Ker-Improvisation!*

... feel free to change it to something more onomatopoeia-ish like "crumble" if you see fit.

I'm not 100% on it, but the commentary seems to be a reference to a Japanese security firm, so I think the implication is, "she gets serious when the Admiral is in danger." (Sort of like the "trance" she went into where she threw off the parka to go swim to him before.)
