I'm surprised the Agano-class is not more popular... Agano seems like such obvious material, and I rather like Yahagi's design...

Anyway, the last couple of these were deleted, so if this one doesn't get approved, I'll just have to assume that non-pooled Goma comics just aren't popular enough to get mods' attention.

EDIT: Also, I just want to point out one of my favorite parts of Monthly Girl's Nozoki-kun was when Mikorin went to the lost children's center to get reunited with Nozoki and Chiyo. A Kindergarten-age girl was offering him her juice box to stop his crying, and he turned it down saying, "Don't make me fall for you!"

That's really a shame, I like these comics and to be honest, Agano-class is my favorite class of light cruisers

They're rare, don't drop anywhere until lategame, and lsc only.

Yahagi still gives me nightmare of Ironbottom Sound. I think I am not the only one who remembers going back there for her.

And that's why you see so much art of the super-common destroyers and light cruisers that have been there from the beginning like Shirayuki and the Nagara-class, but see so little of the fairly rare Kongou or super-rare Yamato classes, right?

It's not about rarity, it's about whether artists like the characters, which is influenced in a snowball effect by how popular the characters already are thanks to how much they were already drawn. The anime is the only thing that helped artists remember that Fubuki and any Fubuki-class besides the 6th and MAYBE 7th DesDiv even existed.

I really think there are too many destroyers for all of them to be popular and the Nagara class is poorly drawn and has unremarkable personalities.

The only weakness the Aganos have are the ones I've mentioned. No one even has them. The reason one ship isn't popular aren't necessarily the same as the reason another ship isn't.

Most ships have barebones personalities that are built up by fanworks. "Nagamon" wasn't really part of the original character design, nor was Kirby/Yuyuko Akagi.

And as far as destroyers go, saying they can't all be popular does nothing to say why one batch was chosen over another. For that matter, how is, say, Abukuma so much more poorly drawn than Ooi and Kitakami when Abukuma has a built-in reason to be at least as memetic as KTKM-sama is with her direct relation to Kitakami?

OR for that matter, if how well they are drawn matters so much, that just reinforces my original argument that the great designs of the Agano-class should have made them more popular...

Because I am agreeing with you! The Aganos have good designs and good personalities. So they should be more popular. But they're so rare!

I've been in the Agano camp almost as long as I've played this game, yet I've never actually thought about why they weren't popular. But yeah, Agano and her sisters really need more love...

I like the Agano class, I just don't have enough slots to keep them. Noshiro has been waiting for her sisters and I've scrapped like 5 Agano just to make space. It's easier to get Yamato than the whole Agano class.

Also many artists use their gameplays as drawing material so it's understandable many haven't tried to collect them because resource keeping, event clearing and slot space.

The CLTs are very strong, so strong that they're often unusable in events by pathing limitations. It seems obvious that they'd be pretty naturally popular, and KTkM is the best one of the three. That being said, Abukuma is pretty strong herself as a poverty CLT that paths like a CL, so maybe that isn't the reaon.
