Guess Sakazaki is referencing that damaged rudder. I can totally see Warspite with a noticeable limp whenever she walks.

Though its likely she can't go on very long strolls since the leg might hurt if she keeps standing for too long.

At least gives the Wheelchairspite a good reason.

I wouldn't doubt the lady's ability to move around. She *did* make it to every theater of war in the 1940s after all.

She's not as fast as she once was, but only down by a knot or so. Not sure what her damage did for her handling into the 40s, but by then I would assume the captain and crew would know about it quite well since that was from World War One over two decades prior.

Oh they know it quite well by nearly ramming several ships.

Her sisters, traded paint with Hood, a couple cruisers, a few destroyers...

Almost cause her to be torpedoed.

Also think she nearly ram a carrier...

The problem was her steering gear, which ate a shell in Jutland, they entirely replace the thing twice but it still jam up at times where you want steering.

So think less pain and more charliehorses....

And if you take into account the Fritz bomb she ate in mid-43, that aggraviated the problem (and force her to discard one turret)

Frankly, I'd think of it more as an occasional cramp, since she was capable of operating normally until a sudden bout of drastically losing control now and then during her service history.

Your "chronic illness" is quite well worn-in at that...
    Tighten
Sometimes, it happened right before the enemy's eyes; sometimes, it happened during trials after refit.
    "Warspite's Chronic Illness"...
    Warspite's Chronic Illness
We can't cure an injury from your warship days just by docking you up.
Even the fixes they made back then haven't held up, right?
    Tighten
At best, we can make sure it doesn't crop up in the middle of battle.
It was the kind of malady that surfaced as "sudden rudder malfunctions".
We can make it like a car seat...
This trouble occurred not just once or twice but several times, and the underlying problem was never fixed before her service came to an end.
I don't need it as good as it was at Jutland or during Operation Husky, but...
You don't particularly need your legs to use your rigging, so shall we leave it at that?
