Pretty cool stuff, but what was with raining swords on the first tank? Did that even *do* anything?
Izetta was living in seclusion up until now so she probably didn't know how durable a tank could be. I think she was just testing it out, seeing if the swords would work against it and when they didn't, she went "Okay. Plan B. Let's flip that thing over!".
Too bad Izeeta is too nice, can you imagine her going Unlimited Blade Works on those soldiers?
Infantry seems to be the only type of soldier that's safe from her. This episode featured a lot of dead Stuka pilots and a rather dramatic shot of a panzer's turret flipping through the air after she blew it the fuck up.
Ride an anti-tank gun, fight with swords and toss tanks....
In this case she's riding a machine gun though.

It's much easier to kill people when you can't see their faces and it feels like you're just fighting against evil machines...
No, that's an anti-tank rifle, although it looks like a fantasy design. There's no tactical requirement for a heavy calibre machine gun that fires from a magazine, it makes no sense. You'd empty the magazine in about a second.

You are right. I was mistaken because I thought she took it from a machine gunner. It's odd that I would come to that conclusion after re-watching the anime, because when I watched it as it aired I didn't think it was a machine gun.
