Yeah, but not usually with fast food joints. There, you're lucky if the burger isn't all flat and tiny, especially in China or Japan, from what I remember.
I know a few places that do it right, but Kasen would need to the a bit of a trip to get to them.
Actually, no, you really can't get a burger like the ones in the advertisements.
Here's a report on it, and you can easily Google more, but basically, they do not prepare the burgers whose photos are on the menu the way that they are actually prepared in the restaurant. (And that's probably a good thing.)
They inject the hamburger patties and the buns, themselves, with a chemical substance to make them "plumper" and look more appetizing, and draw "char grill" lines on with blowtorches. They arrange all the pickles towards the side where the camera is, instead of distributing them throughout or just putting them in the middle so you can more easily see them. Basically, it's not food, it's art, and they might as well be using plastic. (And in some cases, they might actually be using plastic.)
Still, I don't think I've ever seen an advertisment of a burger. And I disapprove of nearly all advertising, so should have come across it sometime.
By "advertisement", I include the pictures of the food they put on the menus, themselves. Walk into a McDonalds or whatever, and you'll see pictures of their burgers on the wall with the prices for the combo meals. Those photos are "doctored burgers" just like the TV adverts.
