I mean, in this case, it probably should have been reduced a bit to hide the scanner artifacts or whatever you call it. But bigger is generally better.
Scanner artifacts? If there are any, they're greatly overshadowed by the jpg here. Or they're not in the top 5% of the picture. I just wanted a quick check to see if you could see the halftones in the original size.
"bigger is generally better" no, no it's really not. when these pictures are so freaking big you can't even view the characters whole face at one time, there is not point or benefit in it being that huge. yes, it's nice to have big high-def images, but there's a limit. if you have to resize the image just to see all of (or even most of) it at once, it's to big.
and NO it's not just people who have "ghetto monitor". I have a large flat wide screen monitor.
that said, this image isn't as bad as some, at least it's not 10+ MBs and so big one of the characters eyes fills the screen
Well, you know you can always resize a pic to a lower res if it's too big for you. Or let your browser/image viewer/whatever do it for you. But when it's saved in a lower res you're stuck with it, unless you like upscaling artefacts.
Besides, Danbooru already provides a resized version. Why are you complaining that there is a bigger pic in addition?
