My only wish is he doesn't try anything WWIII worthy along with Russia against China or North Korea. If Republicans have a death wish they can go to hell alone.

Trump is good in preventing war against Russia since Obama drew us into the Russians conflicts when the US really doesn't have any dog in the fight. China isn't that big of a threat since they have a lot of internal issues to deal with before they have a chance to execute any dedicated offensive. Plus, we have a lot of debt owed to China which is keeping their country running. You don't attack the debtor if you want to be paid (Think Britain and France vs Germany in WWII). NK is way too poor to do much of anything. The biggest threat right now is currently the muslim invasions and attacks in Europe and the US, and illegal aliens in general. Trump seems to be the best option to solve that problem so far, but of course, if he doesn't follow through with his campaign promises then of course nothing will be fixed. So far though, Trump has proven himself as the hardest working president elect, and it is likely that the drive will carry on into his presidency, but time will tell.

I couldn't have said it better "time will tell". I'll be waiting on 2021 when you realize everything remains the same because putting the blame on others won't fix anything. You need to put some effort for that to work, but evading responsibilities only shows how hardworking the change lookers are.

Just for the record, I think I've only downvoted twice in all the time being here. So rest assured I'm not the one doing that.

    This.

Once people stop down-voting comments because they bought the "Trump is a meanie" narrative imposed by the manipulative MSM, and start analyzing things with their brain, and not their feelings, it should be clear that Trump was the safest of the two options.

Russia is becoming more unpredictable as a nation however, with increasing ramp ups in their nuclear arsenal despite the 'New Start' pact, which was to reduce their nuclear arms by half before 2020, I believe. The fact it's run by Putin, a man with a devious amount of cunning and intellect as well as certain charisma, means that it is difficult to guess whether or not active opposition is best or a friendly gesture. With Trump's stance on or more likely from his tone, against China, it might be rather difficult to bring them peacefully to trading and negotiation tables, which brings more issues on my ethnic home country S. Korea (and some trouble with the NATO agreement for my dear UK).

I am not a Trump supporter, but I am also definitely not a Hilary supporter with her very weak campaign and lack of insight into proper tactics to win, it was obvious Trump would pull through and now here he is, sitting in the White House. Despite the media rattling on his case 24/7, and protests etc. breaking out, he's maintained a fairly meek and passive profile and I find it very poor taste for people to assume him a complete failure without giving him a fair turn in his run (even if his position is one of the most important in the world).

On another note, violent anti-trump protests breaking out due to his supposed violent changes and policies, makes me roll my eyes at the pure irony of the situation, especially aggravating considering, I've heard some of these protests have targeted areas that are peaceful and want no part (some of my friends have been affected by the violent protestors accosting them or burning things near their homes).

I don't think Russia is really all that unpredictable. Who really thought anyone would follow the "New Start" pact? Has anyone in the history of warfare ever followed any international arms treaties or disarmament programs? International treaties are what ironically starts major wars. What happens is that countries who follow the regulation always end up behind the curve when other countries start making moves and reveal their hidden arsenals. Putin is in a lot of ways just like Trump. He is very much a patriotic man. He saw his country crumble after the loss of the cold war, and wants to build a better Russia that won't be subject to the failures of communism or the revolutionary mindset that established it in the first place. What Russia wants really doesn't have an effect on US or UK, only globalist organizations that seek a world domination via and one world order under their faction.

Russia isn't really allied with China because they like them, they are allied because no one else who has any international strength would do business with them. America unfortunately did not take the position that once the USSR was dissolved an no longer communist, that they were fine. Trump is the change in the world politics. We don't even have to become united close countries with Russia to be on good terms with them. It does not seem like Trump is interested in Russia beyond simply treating Russia like how he plans to treat all other countries; if you support or do things that will benefit America, America will do business with you. Which is really how all countries should approach their foreign business.

Trump really isn't against China. It's not like he wants to take over the mainland. Trump only wants to fix this one way economy with China. Trump is sees that China doesn't do negotiation. We have done TONS of deals with China and what always happens is that China screws us over in the end by violating their agreements. Around the early 2010's a lot of small companies got screwed over by China and started pulling their mfg back to US. China didn't like that and apparently people being paid by China in our gov didn't like that either because lots of regulations started popping up to force companies back to china and to give safety nets (paid for by taxpayers) to companies subject to Chinese deflation. Russia has no dog in China's economy with the US. China unlike Russia, is very dependent on the US to survive. If we refuse to pay the China their inflated price of debt, we essentially threaten to burst their economic bubble instantly. China wants to avoid that at all cost as not only is this an economic issue for them, but a national one as there are many factions in China ready to tear it apart and split up once the government shows any weakness. Whatever Trump brings to the table that is reasonable, China will agree because they don't have much of a choice. And again, all this is China's baggage. Russia won't do anything to fix China's economy because that isn't the job of other countries, that is the job of the recipient country.

I'm sure people already know my stance on rioters. :D I hope your friends stay safe. My hometown had a few rioting cells starting but they also have an active militia which quickly beat up and crippled several of the rioters when they started vandalizing property and the rioters quickly left and never came back. I have no problems with protesting. Simply stating an opinion is a fundamental right of the US. However, if you block streets or disrupt the peace, you are violating the law as you start infringing on another's rights. Rioters believe in "street justice", and to stop them, you have to use their own street justice back on them.

Because it seems this has created a decent discussion I'll put my two cents in. While I don't necessarily agree with many of Trumps international policies I don't see a whole lot of trouble with them. They don't necessarily seem very dangerous as vastly different.

The problem I have with Trump is his attitude and his ego, which even his most loyal voters will admit is one of his weakest attributes. He almost constantly needs to have his ego stroked and he cannot take criticism well, if at all. A good leader should know to take comments against him in stride and not constantly retaliate against them.

Now I've heard all sorts of arguments that the media is bias, or the media is targeting him specifically because he's a celebrity, but all that is excuses. Most of the fights he gets in are ones he created himself or ones he escalated because he felt threatened by them.

The most telling one was when he accused the judge that would have presided over his Trump University case, who mind you never once said anything to Trump before hand but Trump felt the need to try and attack the judge with no basis at all. This judge never once had any instance of judging unfairly because of his ethnicity, but Trump brought that up, even trying to get his voters to "find" anything that would support his claim.

Trump must understand that the reason people feel uneasy around him and his presidency isn't because his ideas are bad. They are different, and they might not all pan out a certain way, but that's not a bad thing. People are nervous because his bombastic and unpredictable nature has worked against him time and time again. He scares people because they don't know how he'll react to any given situation.

Being unpredictable can be a good thing, but only if you can control yourself, which Trump has shown he has very little ability to do so.

He has the ability to be a rational and calm person, but more often than not he devolves into an ego driven child. The president should be able to stand above the fray, not start throwing random haymakers whenever someone says anything mean about him. He should be able to admit his faults more openly than he has, and not just because he has no choice. And he shouldn't make wild accusations, especially when he has no real basis for them.

I didn't vote for Trump, I voted for Hillary, but he's our president so I'll support him. That being said, I won't tolerate his constantly belittling behavior that he's shown simply because he doesn't understand a situation. There is being unprepared and there is being ignorant. I just hope that Trump can evolve into a better person now that he's the President. I don't want him to continue in this downward spiral of chaos he tends to find himself in. But only time will tell.

I don't think Trump is thin skinned. Everything he does is calculated. If you read his book "Art of the Deal" his entire strategy was outlined in it, and his reactions during the campaign were exactly as he wrote in the book. The thing is what we consider "appropriate" for politicians is political correctness where politicians say one thing but do another. Lots of words and snide insults are said, but very little is done.

Take a Bush for example. The Bush family works with everyone in both parties and don't attack anyone, but as a result of that they are very moderate. They respond to criticism by not defending themselves and as a consequence have built up an image that they are a family of idiots or corrupt big business dealers etc. In contrast, Trump always defends himself, and people in the media are not used to handling that. From their perspective this is radical, but the reality is that it is a rational response to some one attacking you.

The media is absolutely biased. There is no question about that no matter which side of the party line you are on. From the fact checking that was proven false or "corrected" by using an opinion, to the fake scandals (like the backfired fake news campaign, and the Russian stories), false poll data, giving Hillary questions in advance etc. You can google "biased media 2016" and youtube will bring you lists of footage showing plenty of examples with no commentary other than the footage itself. Even though people may never say it on TV, everyone knows that Fox News is Republican, and everything else is Democrat. The only way you will get unbiased news is to watch everything, skip the opinion segments (which is most of the channels footage) and go online to get more reports from different sources.

The reason Trump attacked the judge is because no one who wasn't politically motivate would normally take such a case. After all, can college graduates go back and sue their universities because they didn't become millionaires and get the jobs they wanted? That would be ridiculous. An education is not a promise of success, but giving you the tools for success. Not to mention there were no scams in Trump U. The participants signed and paid every check point during the course when they could have dropped out if the truly thought it was not good education. Not to mention, the people who brought up the complaints were ones who gave it great ratings when they initially left the program.

Much of what we say about Trump is what people said about Reagan. It is the same political tactic recycled and it doesn't work. They say it is ego, but his ego is actually driven by the strategy he figured out when he was building his real estate empire. He is able to manipulate his enemies into reacting the way he needs to achieve his goal. For example the bad news coverage of himself is what he wanted. With the bad news coverage, he was able to get the media to expose their bias and position himself as the one fighting against the establishment. The media did not realize that every article or segment they published against Trump only served to galvanize support for him. It is a classic example of losing the battle, but winning the war, which this zero sum game is ultimately the foundation of all competition be it militarily, economically, or politically. The irony is that the media were the ones with thin skin, as Trump was able to entice them with just a sentence on Twitter into devoting entire weeks of coverage on him, and through this he dominated the politics of the last year.

Just to chime in here... I am anti-Trump, but I will admit that he has done one good thing: the Trans Pacific Partnership is dead in the water.

Wow. I knew Hillary wasn't the best option either, but justifying a liar manipulative person who could back stab you anytime as "strategy" tells so much about how hard the choice between the two was. Well, there's not helping then. Either way you would lose without mattering the choice.

I genuinely don't believe the any publicity is good publicity can work in this day and age of social media. And I don't think he can really keep up this act for long not just because very few people are gonna take him seriously, but he's 70 years old, and the job of the President is gonna be stressful as all get out. And in the end, he's a human not an actual God Emperor.

Though I'd like to be pleasantly surprised if anything he does will actually improve the country. But like he says, we'll see.
