The thing about the word giant(ess) is that its completely subjective. Sure they are normal sized to everything else but they are also huge compared to the city and the people in it so yes, it fits! :3

This is what it comes down to. Whether something is giant or not is a matter of perspective, and "giantess" is what most people use when they look for macrophilia works. Both growth and shrinking both involve giants, just depending on whether it's from the viewer's perspective or the character's.
