To be fair, I think they're specifically talking about kisses on the lips, which Ash has experienced a grand total of once.

i don't know.....latias/bianca kiss is on the cheek and serena's one happen offscreen (so pure speculation).

It's 2 years too late, but I'm pretty sure it was confirmed by the director and producer that it was on the mouth. They just weren't allowed to show it on TV.
