POST-TRANSLATION EDIT: So, not only does the lack of stated motivation mean that having Roland in the harem is an unwanted tagalong that had to be forced upon Adelanta, but Ataline's reward for all this is getting to keep the other unwanted harem member without legal complications... See how not having stated goals creates problems in writing justifications for why things are happening? Everything needs to be contrived to force the main character to do anything and be forced into keeping the cast together.

Atlanta is reactive and not driving in the plot, despite being the main character. This is true.

However, as you said earlier, his years of scheming has already paid off. He got Mickey who he likes to be his partner, and he won his duel so he gets the right to pork her instead of her him. His goal has already been achieved in the first chapter, so now he's mostly dealing with what life has in store for him.

I like how we can talk so seriously about a comedy series, since the social implications of such a system in reality is so vast and potentially horrible.
