She's the normal map final boss after all, with several attack phases---opening airstrike, opening torpedo, 2 shelling phases since she's a BB(V), and closing torpedo. Able to attack submarines due to her BBV trait, and her ASW is high unlike normal BBVs. And of course, she participates in night battle.

You can blame her "ABYSSAL SHIP" nature for that. In theory, they're named "abyssal ship" because they came from deep under the sea, right? So since this means they can breathe underwater(unlike the shipgirls--submarines aside), I'd say diving herself is something she can do regardless of her type or class. And by this logic, "abyssal submarine" is something redundant. There's literally no difference between them and the shipgirl submarines except for their appearance.
