She insist on waking me up at 6 in the damn morning by lightly putting her claws in my so I'll get up and feed her, no mater when she last ate, when we went to bed, or if there is actually food already out.

Cats have a very accurate internal time-of-day clock. Scientists have determined a cat's biological day-clock is accurate to within 5 minutes. They like to keep a daily routine. Your cat has just gotten used to the idea that the people are supposed to be awake at 6 and simply does the same thing every day at around the same time.

Sometimes when dialysis makes me sick and I sleep late Aeris gets worried when she can't wake me up at her usual time (around 7) and she cries at the door for help. My sister or whoever happens to hear her then has to come out and reassure her I'm not dead. If I disrupt the routine by being absent (for hospital visits or whatever) she gets upset about that too. When I first get back she will be excited, but after a few minutes she will realize that I'm OK and I broke the routine so she'll get annoyed with me and shun me for a few hours.

I can believe it, her clock is very spot on. I just wanna know how in the hell it got keyed to 6AM of all things.

Because you consistently feed her around that time. If you push it out a minute or two per day, you might be able to shift the time. Consistency is the key.
