1st: Tourists visits the comiket first time in peak time = complete full place (with +28ºC inside) 2nd: Less visitors for the main games, like popular international soccer teams like Brazil, Germany (maybe Chile) or Japanese stars from other sports 3rd: Possible start in mid of august, several days after the comiket, usually start between 10 to 15 (the games start the 8th or 9th of ths month)
In 2020, Comiket and Olympics will be overlapping each other?
From what I heard, Tokyo Big Sight will serve as media headquarters throughout the Games, and as early as August 2019 preparations will be underway. In the meantime, either Nagoya or Osaka are apparently slated to temporarily host Comiket and other events which could be displaced.
