(-1)*(-1) = e^(-πi)*e^(-πi) = e^((-πi) + (-πi)) = e^(- (πi + πi) = e^(-2πi) = e^0 = 1.

Somehow that seems horribly overcomplicated. It does illustrate the point why we need double negative multiplication to be positive without breaking arithmetic without using abstract stuff though.
