I remember in the Adventurers! webcomic (a Final Fantasy-style JRPG parody), they had a time where the recurring screwup miniboss squad tried to scare the heroes off by pretending to be ghosts. When they didn't react at all, they asked what gives, and the response was, "First, we fight ghosts on a regular basis, and therefore, we aren't scared of them. Also, you're just wearing bedsheets."
