Wish they could have tacked at least another half hour into it. The whole thing felt rushed.
Who knows they'll tackle more of it in Season 2 (if it comes)? I wish to see more of Abyssal Fubuki myself, hoping she'd sink and turn into an Abyssal and some confrontation with her old friends. I just like seeing that kind of tragedy.
They should honestly just make a brand new series where there are multiple bases with different lifestyles and admirals.
Imagine though if the new season is just animated versions of the most popular fan doujin series, like we'd have Shiba Inu Admiral for one episode and Bomber Grape the next. I know it'll never happen, but it'd still be better than the trainwreck that was season 1.

I hope they do a new series and go with a different premise as to what the Abyssals are. Vengeful ghosts is nice and all, but I prefer the idea of alien entity that actively mimics the opposition it faces.

With the event bosses though, it's more or less cannon even in the game that vengeful ghosts are exactly what they are.

Just... why? Why would they start out by saying abyssals are Always Chaotic Evil and then shoehorn The Power of Friendship into it?
Why do Zuikaku and Richelieu, for instance, start out as abyssals, when Nagato, who felt she died ignobly, did not?
Why do the only people who explore the ramifications of this ("You used to be our enemy. How can we trust you?") seem to be Western, or at least, non-Japanese, fans?
