Then with Darkness Being a damage sponge and Kazuma being the Rogue/Only reliable sustainable attacker, You have yourself a "Good" Party (Especially since I think He can drain Darkness of her mana to give to Megumin for a second shot)
Megumin can only cast Explosion just once, then gets slapped with a debuff that reduces practically everything by 100%, which goes away the moment Kazuma maxes her out with drained mana.
Darkness is permanently afflicted with Masochistic. Permanently! She also has accuracy so awful she makes the Leper look like a dead-eyed shot.
Aqua gets triple stress increase rate and will always be afflicted with either Irrational, Fearful or Hopeless. Zero chance of getting any Virtue. Fortunately, she can raise party members from the dead, and she one-shots unholy like nobody's business.
Kazuma's skills are a motley collection that's a nightmare to optimise. Most of them are support skills, with only one real damage skill. He also gains increased stress rate depending on the number of party members who are already afflicted (and since Darkness is already afflicted and Aqua will gain stress rapidly). Once he maxed out stress, he will have a 90% chance of being afflicted with Abusive.
I bet that they had a big chance of not coming out alive.
Yet, funnily enough, has the best chance in taking down the Heart of Darkness with zero casualties.
Aqua's purify skill is obscenely effective and can ress, on top of the standard healing.
Darkness is a stone wall of the highest order with extremely effective guard skill. She can also self-mark which will reduce damage done to her because she weirded out her enemies too much.
Megumin with the right min-maxing has a good chance of outright destroying the Heart of Darkness without allowing him to trigger that instant-character-kill ability.
Kazuma can ensure that Megumin does this more than once on top of being completely untargetable every so often with Lurk.
Yet the issue is that they are so dysfunctional that there's also that very good chance of becoming Heart of Darkness' chow.
All the enemy has to do is only one singular crit wine splash and the team will go to hell.
