Is it possible to choke a headless body, anyway? Does Sekibanki even have a neck, or does the mantle just have a starched collar to cover up that lack of neck?

Well, even if the body isn't choking per se, since the mantle apparently has some way to stay attached, the body could probably feel a nasty yank from it being pulled back mid-run.
