    まあここまで変態チックではないとは思いますが(^^;)
    「なんの役に立つのか」なんて、やってるときにわかるわけないんですよね。
    疑問を持ったから研究するのであって、役に立つかたたないかはそのあとに考えればいいわけですしね。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2527

Well, I don't think he was this perverted about it. (^^;)

There's no way you can know "What use would that be?" until you try it. You start with having questions and doing research, and then you should consider whether or not it's useful.

Reader-added tags for now consist of "The importance of basic research" and "The end of a nerd".

    The survey's snow big deal:

When it comes to snow, you think of...

    It's funny because it's true!

And not just meteorologists, but pretty much all scientists. It's 50% "pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of mankind," and 50% "those science-y guys are a bunch of Nagamons."

woah there boy, that's... some saucy shit right there

So, uh, could this mean that snowflakes are inherently lewd? I'm mighty conflicted now.

    It's Not Pointless
The Nakaya Ukichiro Museum of Snow and Ice...
There's all sorts of crystal shapes, aren't there.
    They've certainly researched it well.

What's the point of researching something like snow?
Understanding the upper strata of winter weather will prove useful for aeronautical meteorology.
That's what I said, but I just enjoy making simple snow crystals.
Seems like a fine line, huh?

Guess it takes all sorts to be researchers too...
