This fanart caused some drama evidently. Not so much the fanart itself but there were some rude comments about Ichigo herself that kinda caused people to get angry due to something she did in the recent episode. Somehow this ended up with people believe that the Japanese VA herself was getting death threats though from what I can tell, she doesn't have any sort of social media presence. It's just over character hate that transformed into this huge thing people aren't probably gonna remember by week's end.
Weird thing is is that the artist itself doesn't seem to be affected by the drama if auto translate is to be believed, just mentioning the anime is popular overseas.
...and now I'm genuinely interested in watching it just to see what Ichigo did that got so many people raging.

The episode summarized in ten words are less: poor communication kills.
I'm not sure why Ichigo is so hated though, considering she's never anything beyond the typical "jealous childhood friend" trope, and the poor communication issue was hardly her fault alone and more about everyone EVERYONE being dumb and selfish.
If anything, I don't get why people support Zero Two beyond the fact that she's the main heroine and her little backstory that was given. She has been very open since like ep2 that as long as she get that Darling D, anyone else can go burn in hell for all she care. Not sure what I'm supposed to sympathize about that.

I think I'll be giving this series another chance for the exact same reason. Couldn't get into it the first time. Probably need to keep reminding myself that these are just teenagers, therefore prone to make stupid decisions like the one causing all this rage.
