[4-Panel Strip] Sumireko-san's Good at Teasing

Apparently, today, April 28, is the day canned soft drinks first went on sale in Japan.

I wonder what their thoughts on Seattle's soda tax are.

Every time the consumption tax on canned soft drinks goes up, they raise the prices. They originally went for ¥100, so ¥110 is fair, right? A hike to ¥130's clearly taking unfair advantage, isn't it?
    Huh...are you seriously saying that?
At the very least, for the two price hikes in the '90s, they didn't immediately follow the tax increase; they deferred the hikes for several years while the makers bore the tax costs, right?
Increases in raw materials prices are the cause of price hikes, nothing more than a pure revision of the value of canned beverages.
I mean, it just seems so dumb.
It'd be weird to begin with if the price of canned soft drinks was fixed at ¥100 even though prices in general were changing, wouldn't it.
Ah...sorry...there goes my habit of going for total domination with a difference in knowledge...
Ah ha ha ha. I'm not ticked off at all, SO EVERYTHING'S FINE, OKAYYY?
