It's been a long time since we saw these glasses. It's the first time in this series that her braids are untied...? (I've drawn it in summary book comics.)

Volley-bu-chan's reaction reminds me of Tex Avery cartoons.

My favorite part is the attention to detail with her untied braids retaining their shape somewhat.

It would be very nice if Ai's hair was actually wavy.
Volley-bu is a man amongst women.

Tried my hand at the extra comments by Himura-sensei. Apparently, he already drew her with untied braids in some supplemental books that were released in the past.

Unseen Awesomeness only applies when the awesome thing is unseen by us, not by characters in the image.

My thinking was "how amazing was her body that this girl has her eyes literally popping out of her skull and has a nose bleed that looks like it will slowly kill her if got stopped.". Plus he guys sure want to see as well as some audience members

Is anyone going to translate the rest of the text in the image?

Still doesn't count. There's nothing unseen here for the audience.

Anyone willing to translate for us people who don't understand Japanese?

Checking now, but it has to do with China and South Korea, and therefore I have a bad feeling about this.

    Edit: Jesus Christ, Himura.

The tweet linked above timestamped Jan 8 2012 references https://www.reuters.com/article/us-korea-chinese-japan/chinese-held-for-firebomb-attack-at-japan-embassy-in-seoul-idUSTRE80706920120108 this incident, and reads:

"A Chinese man threw firebombs at the Japanese embassy in Korea. Haha. Oh, youth. He says it was because his grandmother was a comfort woman for the Imperial Japanese Army. Well, tell her from me that she did a damn good job in service to her country. Nessie, Tsuchinoko, and sex slaves! Nessie, Tsuchinoko, sex slaves! Hyahaaa!"

The last line appears to imply that sex slaves are like the other two in that they don't exist.

If it's any consolation, the general reaction of the readership was 'That was a very stupid thing you just did publicly'.

Thing is, comments criticizing him on that page, at least, are slim. Highlights include 'Himura-sensei is a guardian god of free expression', people saying that this is old news, one saying 'yeah, still within my tolerance level', and one person saying 'any real Japanese should be able to see who's right (on this issue)'.

And a bunch of people talking about baseless accusations and tweet cherry-picking.

... Seriously? You delete all of your translations of his posts here just because of one highly controversial tweet by him several years ago, despite it not being reflected in any of his publicized work?

... I can't believe it took me until now to realize that the round thing in the corner of the last panel is the vague outline of Ai-chan's chest. This means that Volley-bu-chan's eyes aren't bulging at the sight of the Ai-chan with her braids untied and wearing that tight shirt (with the implication that her skin is still damp enough to make the fabric stick to it and enhance her already erotic factor manyfold)... which only leaves one possibility: That she's stuck in a BSOD from the heavenly sight of Ai-chan's naked glory in the bath (which we the audience have been denied). Which was a whole hour ago.

@Zekana, you have my most sincere apology for contending your addition of this image to Unseen Awesomeness.

I guess I personally feel that if I'm going to boycott Japanese artists and artworks because they engage in WWII war crime denialism, I'm gonna have pretty slim pickings.

I've been trying to implicate that Volley's eyes are Ai's boobs. A week ago. And she... is sharing the sight with other men in party.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nobody loses anything over this. Given the downvote I got, I'd be surprised if anyone ever notices.

I don't have the stomach for war crime apologists. If you do, good for you. May these Monday morning women comfort you like they always do.

Looking back on this comment thread I’m now wondering what Himura was going at with his Ushio artworks (especially cause it was Kancolle ie focusing on IJN)
