I don't know, I generally take these series as the character's traits being taken to their absolute extreme.
Kongou will probably take care of that herself if they actually lay a finger on him. She's on the razor edge already, if someone actually tried to hurt 'her' admiral, she's going full Yandere and being family isn't going to save you.
