i guess she was to caught up in Kamina's charisma to even notice him. since a lot of the characters felt that way about Simon earlier on in the series. i guess that may be the excuse for it.

Well, at this point, he's basically a little kid, probably just hitting puberty. At that age, any boobs are good boobs. Besides, she was too interested in Kamina.

they were the same age though. i guess you can chalk it up to typical adolescence, since she fell for the older guy.

between Yoko and Simon? they're the same age actually, something could have happened if she let it. but like it was pointed out she was too into Kamina it seems.

I really wish that she would get with Simon...I mean...well, I don't know how the second season ends but she does just sort of run off at the end of the first season but mia goes insane... but hell, I guess I'll have to see.

Simon would just kick reason to the curb and be the only person to touch her without dieing right after. The fact that he's the Main Character also helps his survival rate a little

Whaaaaaaaaaaaatttt... From what I've read, you're right; but that just makes no sense. If they insisted on making her the same age as the little runt, they should have made her look the part. Nia seems to match his age well enough.

hm... I've read somewhere before about the official artbooks or something that Yoko's actual age is 18~ the same as Kamina. I forgot but it's not 14... anymore?

I believe there was an interview with Gainax way back when where the design team insinuated in a "wink wink nudge nudge" kind of way that Littner Village wasn't all that great at keeping track of time for a good portion of Yoko's life, what with living underground with no sun to track the days by and all. So yes, probably 18.
