There was a goomba, bullet bill, and a paratrooper in the background of one, but I don't recall a bob-omb, basic koopa troopa, hammer bro, shy guy, or spiny.
Also, there's all the Paper Mario variations on characters, like Bombette, Goombette Lady Bow, Mimi/Manera or Vivian, which would be a bit more interesting since they have actual characterization.
