I think this is a nod to Konata's discussion of twins segueing to talking about eggs and sausage.

Maybe it has something to do with them being fraternal twins. Two-egg twins. Makes no sense anyway, none of them is being herself.

lol it is neat to see all of your interpretations! it is actually as simple as everyone hearing "I buy sausage" in the opening and I changed it to a different breakfast item.
