I deleted the parts that were completely off (i.e. "borderline rewrites that are made-up-from-whole-cloth with whole swatches of relevant and important text being plainly omitted") while leaving the other parts intact.

Edit: Did a rush job to fill in the blanks. Wording is a bit stiff though. Would appreciate if someone could make it sound more natural.
